Fall in love with the Eastern Cape

Fall in love with the Eastern Cape, a love affair guaranteed to last forever, and here’s why….

Diversity – the Eastern Cape is one of South Africa’s most underdeveloped provinces. It provides you with an experience of untouched Africa, with its rolling hills, vast coastline, forests, areas of semi-arid desert, Drakensburg Mountains, and diverse flora and fauna. The Eastern Cape is malaria-free, what a joy!
An untouched and pristine coastline loved, enjoyed, walked, and surfed by many. African Penguins, Bottlenose Dolphins, Common Dolphins, Humpback Dolphins, Bryde’s Whales, Minke Whales, Southern Right Whales, Humpback Whales, Cape Fur Seals, various species of sharks (Great White Shark), Cape Gannets, and various species of Pelagic Birds including Terns, Petrels, Skuas, Shearwaters, and Albatrosses can be found in the Algoa Bay.

Giant fairy-filled forests, perfect for hiking trails, waterfalls, and incredible botany. Canopy tours, hiking trails, and incredible indigenous forests, all for your viewing pleasure.
Top family-owned game reserves rich in history, with phenomenal landscapes making you feel you have stepped into the Masai Mara.
Cultural History, the Eastern Cape is the birthplace of several of the country’s leaders. The area is rich in historical and natural heritage dating back to before the 1820s.
Birds and Birding – This is the only birding route in South Africa incorporating 7 different biomes (Fynbos, Coastal thicket. Forest, Succulent thicket, Savannah, semi-desert, grasslands. Narina Trogan, Knysna Turaco, Stanley’s Bustard, Greater Double-collared, and Half-collared Sunbirds to name but a few of our specials.

THE PEOPLE – never have we come across more friendly, hard-working, loving folks, passionate about their province, protecting wildlife, caring for each other and working side by side for the greater good.
Game Reserves – game drives and guided bush walks in big 5 areas, with some of the most top qualified and passionate guides in South Africa. Between Grahamstown and Port Elizabeth (150km), you will find at least 6 of the top Game reserves in the Eastern Cape, all unique and special in their own way.
Amakhala Game Reserve (our operating reserve) is a unique conservation initiative that allows animals to be re-introduced to the area where they once roamed freely and so making a contribution to the conservation of our natural heritage. Incredible to be a part of all the projects and initiatives that are happening on Amakhala. Especially as a new guide coming into the industry, what better place to learn, than a reserve that is truly dedicated to conservation.
Did we mention the Eastern Cape is MALARIA FREE!
