Greetings from the most gorgeous Eastern Cape.
Things have been CHAOTIC to say the least – but of course we are loving it! How lucky are we that in five minutes I can be on the beach, kids in tow and watch the sunset or that within 5 minutes the students can be on a landy heading to the bush and watch a magical sunset with Elephants rolling around in the mud right next to the landy - aaaah the life:0)
Sarah really puts this in prospective with her article below – ENJOY!
Who needs Television?
For the last year I have lived without a television. How can you live like that I hear you cry. Easy! I have what we call bush TV. Whether it is a breath taking sunset, or a roaring camp fire. Nature has the best channels of all. I frequently ask our students what they would be able to live without for one day? I usually get a look of horror from them at the thought that they may not be able to use their emails, iphones or ipods. But truly what is all this technology for? Where has the art of conversation gone, why do we not embrace our natural world as our ancestors did and do we really need to confirm that people are our friends? So why not try it, just for one day or even a week. Turn off the TV (it’s mainly doom and gloom anyway) and go for a walk, watch the sunset or be even braver and get up early and watch the sunrise. It’s always better on the big screen don’t you think?
